What ages do you teach?

Do you do exam preparation for selective school entrance?

Yes, but the more time we have to prepare the better the chance of success so get in contact with us today.

How do I know if my child is having trouble with their school work and what can I do about it?

Communicating directly with your child is a great way to find out what they are struggling with and which specific areas they need help with. Parents’ evenings also provide great insight into how they are developing.

How do I know that my child will improve?

We’re yet to meet a child that hasn't benefited from tuition. We provide updates and feedback about how they are performing. Our homework, coupled with the guidance of our tutors and expertise, improves your child's self-esteem and ultimately their academic performance.

How long will it take to solve my child’s problem?

All children are unique which is why it’s important to attend an assessment. The assessment helps us to develop a plan and set targets that are realistic for your child to work towards. There is no contract or obligation to attend for any length of time and we’ll provide regular feedback so you know how far your child is progressing.

Do you tutor from home?

No. All of our tutoring is done in an optimal learning environment inside of our centre. Your child has access to all of our learning packages and technology and can progress without any distractions.

How long is each lesson?

1 hour 20 minutes. Unlike school classes, our sessions are broken up in 15 minute activities which ensure your child is attentive throughout and gets the most out of their time.

What times are the sessions held?

Tuesday, Friday

3:50 pm – 5:10 pm

5:20 pm – 6:40 pm

and Thursday

3:50 pm – 5:10 pm

5:20 pm – 6:40 pm

6:50 pm – 8:10 pm

(and holidays)

9:30 am – 10:50 am

11:00 am – 12:20 pm

Will my child get homework?

Yes. Homework is an essential part of any tuition programme, particularly for the reading aspect. We're aware of existing school work so we only set a limit of around half an hour’s work each week.

How should I help my child during their tuition at Southampton Tuition Centre?

Inform your child’s schoolteacher they’re attending extra tuition so you can be kept in the loop with any improvements and areas that need attention outside of school hours. With homework, ensure you provide a distraction free environment for your child to learn in.
